ROMAC announces Chef@Home: our trial run
25 June 2014

Before coming to live in Rome like many others I had already taken a vacation to the Eternal City. Right away I fell in love with the Art you can breathe at every corner of the street, the cheerful people, and their excellent food culture that, maybe more than anything else represents the essence of being Italian.

As a visitor, however, in those few days you have available it is difficult to taste those “real” Italian dishes, the ones prepared and tasted by Romans at home, with their family and friends. Yet coming to Rome without savoring the authentic local cuisine means missing out on a part of culture that has made Italy world-renowned.

For this I’m happy to announce our new Chef@Home service. Our ROMAC staff decided to give it a try all together in one of our lovely apartments, following Italian tradition. It was so much fun! Our expert chefs, Silvia and Claudio, prepared exquisite and genuine dishes, with fresh, local, high quality ingredients.

It started with the antipasti: panzanella (a salad of bread and tomatoes), an apricot and onion quiche, hummus and a fresh bean dip for freshly baked bread. two entrées followed: rice with tomatoes and zucchini, and pasta with pesto and olives. After that we had Roman saltimbocca and finished with a tiramisu. All of this was of course paired with excellent Italian wine. It was a unique culinary experience we enjoyed comfortably at home and without having to think aboutt anything other than savoring every aspect of the evening.

Chef@Home does not only allow our guests to taste real Italian and Roman cuisine but also lets you experience an authentic Italian evening: seated at a table; eating a typical Roman meal like pasta carbonara or amatriciana (depending on our chef’s choice) while drinking excellent wine; joking, talking about the day, spending time with your friends and family, taking a break from all responsibility. This is the Italian food culture: the meal is a moment of sociability and relax that represents a fundamental part of Italian lifestyle envied all over the world.

Chef@Home offers everyone the possibility to experience this part of the culture that so often missed by those visiting Rome. I recommend it to everyone who seeks a unique, unforgettable and genuine Italian experience at the same price of eating at a restaurant. Whoever loves Rome and Italy can’t help but love that.
