The Trevi Fountain is without a doubt the most iconic monument in Rome, known world-wide. But to maintain it’s beautiful figure, just like a beautiful woman, requires some sacrifice and a bit of “make-up”. And so our historical fountain will have it’s face done. From the end of June and for all of 2015 restoration work will take place, financed by the famous Fendi family (yes, the one’s from the handbags!)
However, the fountain will not be closed to the public. In fact, tourists will be able to admire it from very close. A panoramic bridge that passes over the basin of the fountain will be constructed, allowing visitors to follow the progress of the restoration and continue to toss their famous coins. The bridge will open at the end of June.
The enclosure of the work site will be made with transparent panels where images will be mounted that document the history of the fountain through the years.
This is an incredible opportunity to admire the Trevi Fountain as it’s never been seen!
