The only vacation rental in Rome with it’s own private courtyard and spa.

The apartment is made up of 2 floors, connected by a wooden staircase to the underground level. Upon entering the apartment, the open, vaulted living room and kitchen greets you with high ceilings and comfortable, high quality furnishings. The design features a mix of antique pieces next to sleek modern ones, for a sense of timeless harmony and comfort as you settle in to your temporary home in the heart of Rome.

Immediately in front of you is a small corridor that opens on the right to a full bath (with tub shower), or straight to the master bedroom with a queen size bed. There is a second full bath (with shower stall) in the master bedroom, as long as an interesting cantilevered loft with single bed – accessible by an inset spiral staircase – perfect for any teenagers or single travelers joining you.

Back in the living room, off to the right is a second bedroom, with a double bed and sink. The room was originally the owner’s daughter’s room, hence the aqua-colored walls and fish decals. The room dimensions are perfect for any children traveling with you, giving them also room to play uninhibited.

Off the living room is a private courtyard and high, ivy-covered walls that protect the apartment from any noise from the street. Outdoor awnings making dining al fresco a real joy, and a small shed houses a washing machine to make longer stays more convenient.

Heading downstairs, there’s another bedroom with queen size bed, pull-out sofa, and full bath (with shower stall). Adjacent the bedroom is the pièce de résistance: a private spa area, featuring soaking jacuzzi tub (big enough for two!), private sauna, and lounge chair for sipping tea after your treatments. Not many vacation apartments can boast such an amenity, but Coronari is not your typical vacation apartment in Rome. For more information read our blog post on the private spa at the Coronari apartment.

Get to know Piazza Navona a little better.

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous squares of Rome, notable for the impressive facades that circumscribe the piazza’s massive oblong shape. The form of the open space follows the plans of the ancient stadium of Domition built in the 1st century where ancient Romans would gather to watch games. In modern times, the square represented the guilded age of Dolce Vita, appearing in golden age films like Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow staring Sophia Loren.

A stroll through the piazza is in itself a history lesson. After leaving the apartment, hook a left and in about a minute you’ll step into the expansive open space of the piazza. To your right you’ll see the imposing baroque facade of the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone (1652), designed by famed Baroque architect, Francesco Borromini. Facing the church you’ll see the stunning Fountain of the Four Rivers (1651), designed by Borromini’s peer, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, which depicts four characters representing the world’s four major rivers known at the time.

Take a 360 view of the piazza, and you’ll see why it is known as one of the best examples of Roman Baroque architecture, thanks to the efforts of Pope Innocent X, who reigned from 1644  – 1655 and whose family palace faced the open square.

Like all of Rome’s most popular piazzas, mediocre restaurants circumvent the perimeter. While the quality and price can be beat in many other places, the view is really what you’re paying for – and it’s very worth it. What other guests have to say about the Coronari Apartment by ROMAC.

Here are some of our most recent reviews from AP08 Coronari apartment.

Our stay here was AMAZING! This flat was by far one of the best I’ve ever stayed in a while in Italy, and I’ve been here many times. the location can’t be beat – most sights, bars and restaurants are just around the corner. The staff was clear and gave us all the information one could ever need, and there is also a book with instructions for all appliances, including the wellness room.

We highly recommend this place and will certainly be back!

I cannot praise the apartment highly enough. It was fantastic and in a fabulous location. I would recommend the Coronari to anyone. Alos the taxi service was very efficient and arrived on time. The drivers were friendly and informative about the city as well. Having the garden was an added bonus and we were able to enjoy the excellent meal prepared by the chef outside. We all had a great holiday and I am sure that that had a lot to do with staying in the Coronari apartment.

I have never really been enthusiastic about the merits of a vacation home or rental agency, but both the apartment and the agency were absolutely marvelous! Daniela was extremely responsive and any small request or issue was resolved in less than a few hours. THe apartment was amazing,w with beautiful vaulted ceilings and tasteful decoration. There couldn’t be a better location. At our arrival we were met by a representative and informed about all the details and some useful local knowledge. We took advantage of the Chef@Home service with Silvia, and she prepared an extraordinarily good dinner – it was such a fun night! Thank you all so much for the wonderful stay provided by ROMAC! We will definitely return!

*Fun Fact: Why is the apartment called Coronari? Just behind the apartment Via dei Coronari connects the end of Piazza Navona with the bridge to Castel Sant’Angelo. The road runs about 500 meters, and is filled with excellent little shops from clothing to antiques, jewelry to pastries. It’s a narrow, charming street that many tourists don’t even notice. The name dei Coronari derives from the past when vendors would sell sacred objects to pilgrims on their way to St. Peter’s Basilica, especially corone del rosario or rosaries.
