Seasoned and hobbyist runners alike will find Rome to be one of the most enjoyable places to do what they love.
All year long there are plenty of competitive and non-competitive races, marathons and half-marathons, and activities for runners planned by various groups for sport or in support of a particular cause.
*It is important to note that in order to participate in any running event in Italy, membership to an athletic organization like FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) is required. If you are not a resident in Italy or a member of a supported athletic organization, you can participate in all running events in Rome and Italy by applying for the internationally recognized Runcard. The Runcard costs just €15 and is valid for one year. For more information about obtaining a Runcard and subscribing online, visit the official Runcard website.
