Italy’s capital is preparing to welcome film stars from all over the world for Rome’s Film Festival 2014.
The event takes place this year from October 16-25th, earlier than previous years to take advantage of the comfortable fall weather.
Like past festivals most films will be shown in Rome’s spectacular Auditorium at the Parco della Musica, designed by famed Genovese architect Renzo Piano.

Hollywood stars who are almost certainly scheduled to make an appearance in Rome to present their film include Kevin Costner, Richard Gere and Clive Owen. The jury is still out if Ben Affleck and Alec Baldwin will touch down in the Eternal City. Italian film will run along side international films with the showing of “Soap Opera” by Alessandro Genovesi, which will be the first film shown officially opening the festival. This year’s festival hostess is Italian actress Nicoletta Romanoff.
New this year is a partnership between the Festival and “Wired” magazine, the bible for fans of technological innovation. Thanks to this partnership, a series of events hosted at the nearby MAXXI museum of contemporary art (designed by world reknowned architect Zaha Hadid), where the concept of film will be expanded across various form and themes. Scheduled showings include a remastered version of “Il grande Mazinga contro Goldrake”, a screening of “The Salt of the Earth” with producers Juliano Salgado and Wim Wenders, and parody series “Gomorroa” that’s taken the world over.
Tickets are available for purchase starting the 9th of October…so you’ll have to hurry if you’d like to meet your favorite actor!
