5 of our Favorite Places for Aperitivo Right Now
21 April 2018

While the Italian aperitivo is enjoyed all year long, there’s something about summer that just brings it to life. We’ve written several articles about aperitivo, like how to enjoy your own Italian aperitivo and where we like to go for a refreshing spritz or glass of prosecco. But new places open up and we discover more places that are serving up cool drinks and delicious bites to satisfy that late afternoon craving.

So here’s a list of 5 of our favorite places for aperitivo right now

Suburra 1930

Suburra 1930 aperitivo in rome

For a combination of some of the best service, bites and craft cocktails in town head to Suburra 1930. For just the cost of your drink, enjoy an assortment of savory bites prepared by the kitchen (no reheated-from-frozen pizzette here). The decadent interior features an abundance of colorful marbles, rich avocado velvet and gold accent to give serious post-prohibition vibes just minutes away from the Colosseum.

The Corner | Marco Martini Garden Bar

Marco Martini aperitivo in rome

The entrance to The Corner (a hotel + restaurant + garden terrace bar) can be easily missed walking down the bustling street of Viale Aventino which connects Piramide with Circo Massimo. But up a few steps from street level and you’ll enter into a pleasant Italian bohemian terrace with wrought iron gazebos, heavy red curtains, and a marble statue of Superman. The eclectic design  is well paired with a comprehensive and ambitious bar menu prepared by the Michelin-starred chef, Marco Martini. Sip on a classic negroni or try one of their adventurous signature cocktails and enjoy your own secret corner of paradise.
