Put stargazing on your Rome itinerary this month.

The Rome Film Festival will roll out the red carpet for it’s 11th Edition October 13-23, 2016 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica among other venues across the city.

What’s showing?

The film lineup this year consists of 44 films and documentaries, including The AccountantThe Birth of a NationThe HollarsThe Last LaughManchester by the Sea, and Denial coming from the USA, Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, and Lion starring Nicole Kidman, among many others.

Films in the “Everyone’s Talking About It” section, include Busanhaeng (Train to Busan), by Yeon Sang-ho from South Korea, Genius by Michael Grandage from the UK, Hell or High Water by David Mackenzie from the US, and La Tortu Rouge by Michael Dudok de Wit.

Besides the films, the program includes other special events, such as a special concert by Michael Bublé and a special showing of the English Patient.

Who’ll be walking the red carpet?

Tom Hanks’ attendance at the Rome Film Festival is secure since he’ll be awarded a lifetime achievement award. To join him in the celebration here in Rome will be Meryl StreepDavid MametDon DeLillo, and Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind, who have all been booked for onstage talks during the festival.

Where can you catch the action?

Much of the festival takes place at the extravagant Auditorium Parco della Musica located near the MAXXI museum.

Other events will take place at the Casa del Cinema, located inside Villa Borghese Park.
